Hi!

Sorry if this has been beaten to death already.....

I am going to get an instrument rating soon, and are considering my options.

Has anyone here any knowledge about taking an IR couorse in the US and
converting it to a JAR license in Europe?

What is involved?
Is there any money to be saved this way?

I've read about US 7 day IR courses.
Any ideas on these? Good idea? Or better to spread the lessons?

Any web sites for info from schools or regulations welcome.

Thanks,

Frode,

I haven't seen much info on this topic on this newsgroup - but there is a
lot information on the "Professional Pilot Training" forum of the
"Professional Pilots Rumor Network" site here:

http://www.pprune.org/forums/

This is a UK based web site and it has a lot of JAR knowledgable
participants.

Frode,
Try reposting in rec.aviation.piloting and ping Chris Blythe, from England.
I talked with him at OSH and he came to Madison Wisconsin and did the
http://www.ifrwest.com/ adventure. He said it was absolutely great and
highly recommended it. He didn't mention anything about the JAR conversion.

Here's Chris Blythe's web page about his IFR adventure in the US.
